Do Not Be Anxious—Part 1

We live in an age of anxiety. In Matthew 6:25–30, Jesus meets us in it not with a dismissal of our fears but with a command rooted in reality: do not be anxious about your life. Look to the birds who are fed and the lilies who are clothed, and consider that the Sovereign Lord who gave you life and body cares for the far lesser things you fret over. The same Father who did not spare his own Son will not abandon you — you can cast your cares on him, because he cares for you.
