In the midst of the world’s longing for peace and well-being Jesus declares the blessing of His kingdom, where citizens are marked by purity of heart and peacemaking. Those who are pure in heart are cleansed not by self-effort but by Christ, living for Him, longing to see Him. Having been reconciled to God through the cross, we then reflect His family likeness by pursuing peace with others through gospel proclamation, and love that guards unity within the body.
