Who is the Lord in the midst of suffering? Scripture honestly acknowledges that suffering can surprise and confuse us. At times, it may even feel as though God does not love us. In those moments, we need to be reminded that trials never occur outside of God's care or control. Our Heavenly Father uses suffering to refine us—revealing His deep love for us and exposing the misplaced loves in our own hearts. In this, our Faithful Creator—worthy of our trust—is at work for our ultimate good.
