In Matthew 24:36–51, Jesus teaches that no one knows the day or hour of his return—only the Father does—and therefore his followers must live knowingly, alertly, and faithfully. His second coming will be sudden, like the flood in Noah’s day or a thief arriving in the night, separating the ready from the unprepared. Believers are called to stay awake to this reality, living with integrity, purpose, and urgency rather than distraction or indifference.
