The book of Jonah asks a demanding question: Is your heart like God’s heart? In Jonah 4, God tests Jonah to reveal what is in his heart and then questions him to confront it. While Jonah’s heart is driven by self-centeredness, God’s heart is moved with compassion for the lost. Only in Christ do we find grace that goes deeper, transforming our hearts to love as God does.
